Entertainment Weekly sat down with the writing duo behind the ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS series and MONSTERS & ALIENS and KUNG FU PANDA 2 for Dreamworks animation - and were told of a huge Tolkein-esque fantasy adventure they're writing, from the notion of the boardgame... CANDYLAND. Personally I've always preferred DREAMLAND from SOMEWHERE IN DREAMLAND, the old Fleischer Color Classic, here ya go...
But after the success of PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, it was a matter of time before this eventuality came to pass. But given the diabetic issues that CANDYLAND presents, will there be a traveler for whom CANDYLAND is a hell? Bet this'll be 3D.
