COMPANY OF WOLVES' Neil Jordan Brings Us (Hopefully Hot) Mother/Daughter Vampires In BYZANTIUM!!

Merrick here...

Neil Jordan, who brought us THE CRYING GAME way back in 1992 (was it that long ago?) and subsequently adapted Anne Rice's INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE to star Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, is returning to the realm of the fangtastic with BYZANTIUM, which'll star Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton.

The original script is penned by Moira Buffini and details the story of a mother vampire who turns her own daughter into a vampire and the pair form a lethal partnership, sometimes posing as sisters.

...says THIS piece in THR.

I know many 'round these parts don't share my opinion...decidedly so, in fact...but I've been enjoying the hell out of Jordan's THE BORGIAS on Showtime - the series is about to conclude its first season and was recently picked up for a second.  I'm a few weeks behind at the moment, but so far Jordan's written every episode of the show and directed a few installments as well as Executive Producing.  Wondering how BYZANTIUM will affect his involvement with THE BORGIAS' upcoming season - if at all?  Interestingly, I've yet to see THE BORGIAS mentioned in any of the pieces I've encountered about BYZANTIUM.  Wonder what that's about?

I am such a pathetic, unrepentant meganerd that the moment I saw the title BYZANTIUM I jumped to The Doctor, River Song, Bishop Second Class Octavian, and his squad of militarized clerics facing down Weeping Angels in the wreckage of a downed starliner.  If you don't know what I'm talking about?  You should.  If you do know what I'm talking about?  I love you.  That is all.
