Nordling here.
TAKEN's success meant that a sequel was inevitable. I really like Liam Neeson as an action hero. He has a real presence and intensity when he opens his particular can of Whoop-Ass Zero (all the kickassocity, none of the calories!). The Luc Besson-produced thriller did huge bank here in the States, and according to Variety we'll be seeing more adventures with Bryan Mills, with Twentieth Century Fox handling domestic distribution.
Besson also announced the director of the project, Olivier Megaton (TRANSPORTER 3, COLUMBIANA). No word on plot, but I'd imagine Neeson will glower and punch someone in it. Let's hope so, anyway. I'd love to see Mills reactivate his old security team. Old guys seem to be showing the young ones how it's done these days, aren't they?
Nordling, out.
