AVENGERS!! SOUTH PARK!! TESTEES!! LARRY SANDERS!! HUMAN PLANET!! HercVault!!

I am – Hercules!!

The first Marvel cartoons inspired by Robert Downey Jr., the fast-moving, way-better-than-expected The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Vols. 1 and 2 features a compromise Nick Fury – he’s black, but he’s not bald.

There’s a helicarrier.

Fury, Maria Hill, Pepper Potts and (pre-Machine) Rhodey Rhodes are hanging around also in episode one, but Thor, Odin, Loki, Heimdall, the Frost Giants and Jane Foster don’t mosey along until episode two.

Bruce Banner, Thunderbolt Ross, The Absorbing Man, Hawkeye and Black Widow don’t check in until episode three.

Captain America, Bucky and Red Skull arrive with episode four.

Ant-Man, The Wasp and Black Panther don’t put in appearances till episode five.

True assemblage does not begin until episode six.

Don’t listen to the haters! South Park’s 14th season was another great one:

14.1 Charlie, Dave and Tiger discussed addiction.
14.2 “The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs” was forged.
14.3 Randy’s scrotum provided transport.
14.4 Kyle friended the wrong schoolmate.
14.5 Stan accused Tom Cruise of packing fudge.
14.6 Celebrities conspired to exploit Muhammad’s goo.
14.7 A camper was violated by a massive fish.
14.8 Vagicil decimated Cartman’s racing dreams.
14.9 A Snookie was cornered.
14.10 Mackey was molested by an ecology champion.
14.11 The Coon disciplined his insolent cohorts.
14.12 Kenny revealed he knows what we know.
14.13 Cthulhu brought to an end Beiber’s career.
14.14 Sharon gave a happy ending to a Shake Weight.

The new set comes in both DVD and Blu-ray.

A crude yet well-made TV-MA sitcom co-created by "South Park" writer Kenny Hotz, “Testees” is about poor people forced to offer themselves up for medical experiments. A Canadian import, it’s almost Terrence & Phillip made flesh. Terrence & Phillip makes me laugh, and I’m embarrassed to admit "Testees" made me laugh plenty. (And not a lot of sitcoms do these days!) The critics are generally not on board … The New York Times says:

… This show is all puerility all the time. … it just sits there, inert, like a patient on a gurney.

The Los Angeles Times says:

… The fact that I don't find this kind of thing all that funny some will take as a sign of my shameful lack of guyness, but I'm just trying to be honest about my prejudices. There are people in this world who find flatulence mightily entertaining, and they should be happy here. …

The Washington Post says:

… wall-to-wall uproarious …

The San Francisco Chronicle says:

… disappointing … a good premise gone sophomorically sideways. … you have to be hitting the bong awfully hard not to see some of the jokes in "Testees" unfolding. …

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says:

… makes "Kath & Kim" look smart and savvy, a nearly impossible feat.

Variety says:

… Every bit as juvenile as its title would suggest, "Testees" lives several rungs down the evolutionary ladder from FX's once-promising and now increasingly disappointing "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." …

The Hollywood Reporter says:

… More shocking and sophomoric than funny …
