Mark Verheiden, veteran of Syfy’s robot invasion series “Battlestar Galactica” and TNT’s fast approaching alien invasion series “Falling Skies,” will help Akiva Goldsman (“Batman & Robin,” “Fringe”) write the “Dark Tower” TV series that will run on NBC between Universal’s “Dark Tower” movies.
Ron Howard (“Frost/Nixon,” the “DaVinci Code” movies) is expected to direct the three movies and TV series, based on the novels by Stephen King.
Ron Howard told Howard Stern in January that he expected the TV project that would air between the first two movies would be a six-hour miniseries.
Javier Bardem (“No Country For Old Men,” “Vicky Christina Barcelona”) is expected to play the central character in the movies and the series.
