AICN Exclusive: The Winner Of The HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN Trailer Contest!

Nordling here.

HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN is currently playing on VOD, and will be released theatrically May 6th.  As HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN came to be due to a trailer contest by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino, who knows what will happen to the winner of the contest that Jason Eisener and his team held for their film?  Well, the votes are in, and the decision by Jason, Joe Dante, Brian Trenchard-Smith, Katt Shea, and your votes has been made... but I'll let Jason tell it:

Even with the help our of guest judges Joe Dante, Brian Trenchard-Smith, Katt Shea and the online community, it was still a very difficult task to pick the winner of the Hobo with a Shotgun trailer Contest. So with all the votes in and the tally counted, we are very proud to announce that the winner is VAN GORE!

This trailer was Created by Keith Hodder, Peter Strauss and Jerrad Pulham -

It was an amazing pleasure and honour to be able to put on this contest. We had over a hundred entries which were all very entertaining and well done. Back in 2007 Robert Rodriguez and SXSW teamed up to put on a fake trailer contest for the release of GRINDHOUSE; it was such a great opportunity for filmmakers to get out with their friends, get creative and show the world their skills as filmmakers.

We wanted to give the same opportunity to people that we had, and to encourage one and all to make films. So many filmmakers poured their heart and souls into these works and it shows. We want to thank and congratulate everyone who submitted their trailers, we saw so many amazing ideas. We'd love to see you all get the same chance that we did, and make your own feature films. If you're passionate about your ideas, I encourage you to push and fight for your dream. This contest has been a very inspiring experience, thanks again to all the filmmakers who submitted, everyone who watched the trailers, and the judges for helping us pick the winner.
