Again with the BATMAN stuff!

Heh. I love this part of rumor hell. Ben Affleck (via his Affleck.Com) has come out saying:

"As I'm sure most of you might infer, this story is absurd. There is no Batman script, no movie being planned, they have not called me or my agent and Gwyneth is much more the "Electra" (daredevil reference) type... I really have no idea where they get this stuff. It is as if someone sits in a room and quite literally invents it." --Ben Affleck

Alrighty... Let's take a look at this. First off, contrary to what Ben is saying, there IS a new BATMAN MOVIE being planned. This has been confirmed with articles in Hollywood Reporter and Variety. However, he is right when he says that there is no script and that they haven't called him or his agent. BUT... His name is the name being talked about by WARNER brass as being the young Bruce Wayne in a YEAR ONE scenario. They just haven't called him yet, because... Lorenzo and the fun bunch crew at Warners still don't know what they are doing yet. My spy in Lorenzo's office tells me that they are still taking pitches for plot lines and angles from many writers... and will through the month of January. (and beyond if they haven't got it nailed down by then.)

Once they get a script in place... that's when they would be approaching Ben. Of course this could all be a bunch of bollocks, cause Alan Horn could fire Lorenzo when they come back from the holidays... meaning everything Lorenzo has been cooking up could vanish until a new dude steps into the loop.

Meanwhile, all of this is sort of holding up the BRUCE WAYNE tv show progress. My Lorenzo Spy, I'll call him Daffy Duck, has allegedly forwarded me the pilot draft to look at. We'll see if it ever arrives. I'm dying for a looksee.

AND that is where things are concerning Hollywood's plans with the Batman...
