For a while we've heard that 28 WEEKS LATER director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo looked to be the director of a new adaptation of James O'Barr's THE CROW.
Indeed, Fresnadillo now looks to have the gig - succeeding Stephen Norrington (BLADE, LXG) who was at one point to direct the picture from a script by Nick Cave (a tremendous composer who also scripted THE PROPOSITION).
With Norrington out (which was previously announced), a new writer will be brought in to adapt THE CROW for Fresnadillo - presumably relegating Cave's version to mythological status alongside his legendary, history-spanning screenplay for an unmade continuation of GLADIATOR. That script was completely off the hook - and I liked it...
