Disney Scuttles Robert Zemeckis’ YELLOW SUBMARINE!!

I am Hercules!!

And we sailed into the sun!

Disney is sadly not going forward with its Robert Zemeckis-directed digital remake of “Yellow Submarine,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Reporter says the failure of the expensive Zemeckis-produced motion-capture extravaganza “Mars Needs Moms” is to blame, but Deadline Hollywood has a source that indicates Disney dismissed “Submarine” months ago.

The Beatles were to be played this time around by Cary Elwes (the "Saw" movies) as George, Peter Serafinowicz ("Couples Retreat") as Paul, Dean Lennox Kelly ("The Worst Week of My Life") as John, and Adam Campbell ("Harper's Island") as Ringo.

I was rather hoping it'd look a little like this:

Zemeckis is reportedly contemplating his first live-action directorial effort since 2000’s “Cast Away.”
