Warner Bros. has fired the star of CBS’ highest-rated series. The studio’s statement:
"After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately."
Sheen was contracted for the sitcom’s 2011-12 season, so brace for an exciting volley of suits and countersuits.
I’m not at all familiar with how Warners came to the decision, but I am vaguely aware that the studio recently learned the actor was full of tiger blood.
Word is the studio is contemplating replacing Sheen, star of “Platoon” and the “Major League,” "Hot Shots," “Wall Street” and “Scary Movie” franchises, with a TV actor who has never been able to mount a successful feature career.
