Learn Who David E. Kelley Has Chosen To Play WONDER WOMAN’s Archnemesis!!

I am Hercules!!

Elizabeth Hurley (“Austin Powers”), whom we’ve not seen a lot of since she took Peter Cook’s devil role in the 2000 remake of “Bedazzled,” has landed the part of Veronica Cale, the title character’s archnemesis in David E. Kelley’s “Wonder Woman” pilot for NBC.

Cale, created by Greg Rucka in the pages of 1993’s Wonder Woman #196, runs a pharmaceutical company both in the print and TV versions. Rucka says Cale was conceived as the Amazon princess’ version of Lex Luthor.

The project is rare detour into the fantastic for Kelley, the attorney and “L.A. Law” writer who earlier created "Ally McBeal," "The Practice," "Chicago Hope," "Picket Fences," "Boston Legal" and "Harry's Law."

(Perhaps Kelley hopes to bring an Ally-Nell dynamic to the characters?)

Adrianne Palicki (“Friday Night Lights”) was cast two weeks ago as Diana Themyscira, the superstrong hottie from another land who runs her own Los Angeles-based multinational corporation when she’s not fighting crime.

UPDATE!! Skinny Tracie Thoms ("Wonderfalls," "Cold Case") has also just joined the cast as Diana's assistant, Etta Candy.  Etta was orginally created as Diana's rotund sidekick by William Moulton Marston in 1942.
