Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer will script a remake of THE BODYGUARD for Warner Bros. Director Mick Jackson's 1992 original starred Kevin Costner as Frank Farmer, an ex-Secret Service dude charged with protecting supersinger Rachel Marron (Whitney Houston).

The original was written by Lawrence Kasdan and was the first script written by the scribe, best known for penning Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Big Chill. It was meant as a vehicle for Steve McQueen and Diana Ross.
In the remake, the story would be updated so that the man would be a former Iraqi war vet.
No word yet on a director, but to me this feels like a Ratner.
