Jackie Chan's 100th Film to come to US Shores!

Nordling here.

100 films.  Wow.

I might be in the minority on this, but I thought Jackie Chan did a great job in THE KARATE KID, showing sensitivity and a layered performance that was surprising, considering his output in recent years in his English-language films.  In many of them, he didn't seem very engaged, and some of them (THE SPY NEXT DOOR) were just awful.  We all remember the heyday of DRUNKEN MASTER II and SUPERCOP, and although he probably doesn't have the physical capabilities of those days, he can still entertain with the best in the world.

Now it looks like his 100th film, 1911, will be released in the United States, according to Hollywood Reporter.  The film is a period piece telling the story of the founding of the Republic of China, and Chan co-directed the film with Zhang Li.  The film is considered a more mature work for Chan, with him playing a high-ranking officer in Sun Yat-Sen's (Winston Chao) army as they overthrow the Ming Dynasty.

The film will be released in both China and the United States on the same day by Well Go Studios, who also released IP MAN 2 here in January.

Nordling, out.
