“Scooby Doo” actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, who seemed to have a pretty happening movie career in 2004 when “The Grudge” hit cinemas, is now making a new bid to return to the small screen.
Gellar will star in the pilot for “Ringer,” a CBS pilot about a lady on the run from the mob who comes to impersonate her wealthy twin sister. If that’s not complex enough a premise, the wealthy sister is apparently ALSO on the run.
The pilot is masterminded by “Supernatural” writer-producers Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder.
About 18 months ago Gellar had been attached to an HBO project titled “The Wonderful Maladys,” which never got beyond its pilot.
