Prestige Worldwide (AKA Will Ferrell And John C. Reilly) To Record A Rap Album!

Beaks here...

A few minutes ago, Adam McKay dropped the following bombshell on Twitter...

"Are we currently working on a Step Bros rap album? Yup."

It's not quite the STEP BROTHERS 2 idea McKay mentioned when I interviewed him last July, but I'll take more Prestige Worldwide any way I can get it. As for whether McKay, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will be able to successfully stretch this perilously thin premise across a sixty-minute LP... it sounds crazy, but I wouldn't bet against them. It'll at least be better than "The Rappin' Duke""Rappin' Rodney", or "City of Crime". Right?

I don't know if I want them to bring in top-tier hip-hop producers like Kanye West and Pharrell, or if I'd prefer they go with a less polished sound. Actually, what am I saying? Until today, I didn't know I wanted a Huff & Doback rap album. But I do. I really, really do. And if they pull it off, why not go ahead and make STEP BROTHERS 2 - which might then put pressure on Paramount to greenlight ANCHORMAN 2 (replete with preproduction Broadway show)?

I Tweeted at McKay for further info on the LP, but he didn't say nothin'. Perhaps he'll get in touch when he sees this story.

And if you don't know Prestige Worldwide, now you know, Jim...
