I've seen them all, they're all great movies, but I'd swap out The King's Speech for True Grit.

Another strong list. I didn't see Frankie and Alice, but all the rest I can vouch for. I'd say this is Natalie Portman's to lose right now, but I could see Kidman or Lawrence sneaking out an underdog victory.

Another strong one. I'd give it to Eisenberg because he's such a perfect match of material and actor and does some incredibly subtle stuff in that flick. I'd love to see Franco take it, though. Oh, and Aaron Eckhart can go suck an egg, I guess.

Wait, this is a joke, right? Red is good fun, but we have Alice and Burlesque nominated in this category? Really? I guess there weren't a lot of musicals this year and they had to have one in there to justify the title of the award... Burlesque, really? Looking below and seeing that they give a nom to Emma Stone, why isn't Easy A on the above list? Or Love and Other Drugs? Or Casino Jack? Bur-fucking-lesque?

I love Johnny Depp, but even I have to double-take at his double-nom here. Spacey was great in Casino Jack and Gyllenhaal gave a fantastic, nuanced performance in Love and Other Drugs. I'd give it to Gyllenhaal out of that list.

Glad to see Animal Kingdom get some love. Jacki Weaver is fantastic in that flick, Amy Adams was great in The Fighter, as was Melissa Leo and Mila Kunis... well, she should win the world as far as I'm concerned. Helena Bonham Carter was charming in The King's Speech, but she stole this spot from Hailee Steinfeld, who turns in one of the best child performances in the history of film as Mattie Ross in True Grit. Boo on you, Helena Bonham Carter!
BEST SUPPORTING PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR - DRAMA

If the HFPA were fuckin' professional they'd give this to the obvious choice: Christian Bale. I love you Andrew Garfield (although you should have gotten this nom for Never Let Me Go, not The Social Network), Jeremy Renner and Geoffrey Rush, but this is Bale's award.
BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM

This is a fight between How to Train Your Dragon and Toy Story 3 in my eyes. Tangled was surprisingly good, but those two films are a cut above. Toy Story 3 gave a satisfying conclusion to a groundbreaking trilogy of family entertainment and How to Train Your Dragon is an amazing fantasy spectacle that has real world consequences and cute widdle draggy-wagons.
BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM

I'm usually better at having seen the foreign noms, but of this list I've only see Biutiful and that movie bored me to death. I don't have an opinion on this yet. I have a screener of I Am Love somewhere, so I'll give it a watch soon.

Strong competition this year. Still, Hooper over the Coens? No Boyle for 127 Hours? If any of the others win I'm happy, but I'm leaning towards Aronofsky for what he pulled off visually with Black Swan.

This category confuses me. Daft Punk (Tron Legacy) and Carter Burwell (True Grit) shunned for a nom for The King's Speech and Alice In Wonderland? Whhhaaaaaa? Not that it really matters as this is a foot race between Reznor/Ross and Zimmer anyway... I guess it'll come down to full score (I'd give it to Reznor/Ross) or cultural impact (Zimmer's Inception score is iconic). I love them both and can make arguments for either, but if I was forced to choose, I'd go Reznor/Ross.
