According to ZARDOZ it looks like Arnold will be signing the dotted line today or tomorrow. As soon as he does, I'll give you a big ol rundown of the coolness this film has in store for you. No not spoilers, but I'll do a non-spoiler review of the kickass script. I mean I am absolutely in love with this action script. Feels like a cross between STAGECOACH and ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13. Heheheheheh, goody goody goody goody. I just hope that Spottiswoode directs this one RAW. I want energy. One could make this the ultimate techno-weapon fetish flick of all time, but that would do it a disservice. The tension in the script is wonderful, and I hope that Arnold won't make them restructure the film. As it is right now it is very balanced, with lots of cool characters (ie.. Predator), if he makes them make Arnold the CENTER, then you would lose the wonderful balance the piece has right now. Just thinking aloud, here's the scoop...
Here's a little SWAT news concerning Arnold. It looks like his deal for SWAT will be wrapped up today or tomorrow. I wish I could tell you this is an absolute 100% happening thing, but Arnold is not an easy guy to track and he changes his mind so quick. I belive this to be true as it came from high sources within the studio. If Arnold signs, look for a start date in late April with a summer 1999 release.
As you may already know, the studio is closing (closed) their deal with Riger Spottiswoode to direct. Spottiswoode was hand picked by Arnold.
Arnold may do a two-fer at Tri-Star by signing to do a comedy (I can't remember the name) as well.
