Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic!
“Is Vigo!” is a constant battle cry amongst my friends. Say what you will about Ghostbusters II… it feels a little forced, the cast seems a little less fired up, that perfect lightning in a bottle effortlessness of the original isn’t exactly there, but when you really think about it it has everything that should be in a sequel.
All the cast returns, fan favorites get more screen time (Louis Tully, I’m thinking of you), there’s a big bad villain and, of course, emotional pink goop.
But Vigo and his slimy henchman (Peter MacNichol), who just wants to fuck Sigourney Weaver, are the reason Ghostbusters II holds a special place in my heart. Wilhelm von Homburg’s Vigo is one scary-lookin’ dude. Sorry, Wilhelm. Awesome name, creepy face.
To make him a little less creepy, how about a shot of him, in full get up, smiling and wielding a broom?
