From Hell’s heart The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day stabs at thee. For hate’s sake it spits its last breath at thee.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic!
The last time I featured Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan I had a messed up Ricardo Montalban getting some goop dabbed on his face from his final moment of seeming triumph in death against Admiral (Admiral? Admiral!) Kirk and his prized ship.
Today I feature legendary effects man Ken Ralston as he fingers a Chekov’s ear. Well, meaning he’s puppeting the dreaded Ceti eel out of a giant fake ear, but you know what I mean.
Another great glimpse behind the curtain on how they pulled off that kind of grotesque shot of Chekov fighting against the creature in his brain, making it come out of his ear canal. This picture kind of creeps me out, to be honest. Not Ken, he’s a handsome bearded fellow… and not even the creepy worm thing, but just how casually half a face is just hanging there like a skinned giant.
Thanks to reader Barry for sending the pic in! Here’s the image (click for bigger):
If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare or the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here.
In honor of the late producer Dino De Laurentiis tomorrow’s pic will feature a sexy shot of Jane Fonda!
