Season One of SPACE: 1999 has now hit Blu-Ray in the UK and is coming very soon to American Blus as well (the UK version can be found HERE).
The folks at Network DVD, who is releasing the series in the UK (some of their extras will also be seen on the US sets), were kind enough to send over some 'before and after' shots demonstrating the extent of the restorative process these episodes are undergoing.
These images were presented to me as nifty .gifs that one could mouse over to change the picture/see the before/after comparison. While this effect worked wonderfully in my e-mail, we couldn't actually duplicate the same functionality on the site - and we're not sure why. As such, when viewing the images below, the original/un-tweaked images will always appear on top, followed immediately with the Blu-Ray versions of the same shot.
Can't wait to see these shows for myself - quite a difference, my hunch is the series will never have looked so good.
