Hey folks, Harry here. I've heard some very interesting things about HOLLOW MAN that I'm actually quite excited by. First up is the fact that Kevin Bacon... while invisible for most of the film, is actually in all the scenes that he's invisible in. What? Well... Verhoeven felt that it was important to have his actors all interacting. To have a voice to listen directionly to. They just can't fix their eyes on his eye line. As a result, I've heard that Bacon has been on set in complete GREEN SCREEN SUITS, BLUE SCREEN SUITS... and when in water... BLACK SCREEN SUITS. I've been trying to get some folks that have been on set to talk with me, but so far they have been real quite other than talking about 'how cool these sets are!' Yeah yeah... thanks buddy! Sheesh. If this film is done right... you can expect an INVISIBLE MAN movie along the lines of say... ALIEN or PREDATOR mixed with PHASE IV or ANDROMEDA STRAIN. Well... here's some dude to tell ya more...

This is a new geek to add to your rogues' gallery. I'm a filmmaker and screenwriter. Using my nebulous connections to Hollywood's underworld I have come across some information regarding Paul Verhoeven's latest sci-fi bonanza, The Hollow Man. This should be interesting to all fans of the geek spectrum because Verhoeven has been responsible for some of the best sci-fi of the last two decades. Even his Dutch stuff is amazing (The Fourth Man, Spetters, et al). Let's not forget Basic Instinct or even Showgirls, which was a scathing attack on America's obsession with stardom that was sabotaged by a misleading advertising campaign. Watch Showgirls again, preferrably with Starship Troopers, to see how the film works as a parody of Hollywood product. Anyway, enough of my boosterism of Verhoeven (even though he is better than Spielberg) and on to the news. My good friend, Da Reprezenta, tells me that the FX teams working on the FX heavy Hollow man have already decided to trim shots and sequences that they feel the MPAA would crucify them for. The film will definitely be the most violent invisible man film ever, so I think they can afford to do such a thing. Hopefully we'll see the cut footage on DVD, but I think that some of the effects weren't even completely rendered before they came to their senses. I believe most of the cuts involve the Hollow Man killing a dog. Don't get me wrong, the movie is not being censored, but rather Paul and company are using a touch of restraint. This will still be a balls to the wall flick.
