Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day… Yoooouuu baasssstttaaarrrdddd…

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic! We’ve had a couple of days of classy Universal style monsters. Now it’s time to camp things up a little bit around here! Stuart Gordon’s Re-Animator is a film that feels very homemade. The sets are kinda cheap, the supporting cast aren’t really good at… um… acting… But the flick makes up for all that in a few key ways. Firstly, Jeffrey Combs is a God as Herbert West. If I had to pick, I’d say his Agent Dammers from THE FRIGHTENERS is my favorite performance of Combs’, but Herbert West is undoubtably his most iconic. So, he’s great. David Gale plays a good heavy, even when he spends most of the movie acting as a pissed off severed head. Funny story, a good buddy of mine threw his vote away in 2004 by voting Third Party because he hated Bush and said Kerry reminded him too much of Gale as Dr. Hill from Re-Animator. True story. Most importantly Re-Animator has an over-abundance of fun. It’s a cup runneth over with entertainment. This movie is just so goddamn easy to watch just thinking back on it now makes me want to pop in the DVD. Here’s the pic for today, featuring three versions of Mr. David Gale playing Dr. Carl Hill. Enjoy!

If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare or the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here. Tomorrow’s Behind the Scenes Pic is having a fit. Which one? Why the one that bit the cow, of course. -Quint quint@aintitcool.com Follow Me On Twitter
