Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic!
How could we let October pass by without featuring the only horror film to ever win Best Picture. And yes, I said Horror film. The Silence of the Lambs was a horror film before it got nominated then suddenly I remember people started calling it a “Thriller” instead.
Why is it when a horror film is done well it becomes a drama or a thriller?
The Silence of the Lambs is a serial killer movie. A man wears another man’s face in this film. One of its leads is A CANNIBAL.
Yes, it’s also a drama and a suspense-thriller, but come on. Let’s not pretend this isn’t a movie about a man who kills women to make a woman suit because he hates his penis.
Rant over, soap box removed. However you categorize the movie, it’s brilliant. From Tak Fujimoto’s photography to Jonathan Demme’s direction to Ted Tally’s flawless script to fantastic performances from Jodie Foster, Scott Glenn, Ted Levine and one of the most iconic personas ever put to screen in the form of Anthony Hopkins’ Hannibal Lecter this film is damn near perfect.
And let’s not forget Roger Corman’s cameo. Best Picture, featuring Roger Corman!
So today’s pic features Mr. Jonathan Demme and a certain doctor. Enjoy!

If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare or the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here.
Tomorrow’s Behind the Scenes Pic IS NOT MY MOTHER!!!!
