Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic!
I would have loved to have a picture of Stephen King from Maximum Overdrive, his first and last foray into directing and a movie I think is kinda dumb, but in all the right ways. I’m a huge fan of that flick and a huge King fan in general, so it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t include the maestro in my October horror run of BtSPotD.
Thankfully I do have a nice picture of King and George Romero hanging out on the set of CREEPSHOW, which King wrote and starred in as the country bumpkin Jordy Verrill.
Last Halloween I was Jordy Verrill, albeit the fat version, with moss covering my face, overalls and a plaid shirt, so you can tell I’m a pretty big fan of Creepshow. Hell, I even love Creepshow 2. The Raft is probably my favorite segment of any of the Creepshow films.
But The Lonely Death of Jordy Verrill is pretty close. What good horror geek hasn’t exclaimed “Meteor shit!” when they get their hands dirty?
I’m a sucker for anthology horror and any throwback to the great EC comics days done by modern masters is always smiled upon.

Enjoy!

If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare or the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here.
Tomorrow’s Behind the Scenes Pic will involve one of the above two men. See ya’ then!
