FANTASTIC FEST Awards Announced!

Hey folks, Harry here... I'm currently on Day 5 of 3-4 hours sleep a night. Exhausted, but I had to get this up before turning in. Personally, I agree with the Audience Award winner - the very best film of FANTASTIC FEST that I've yet seen is BEDEVILLED. A tremendous film from South Korea - and the award to Ji Song-Won for Best Actress for her role in BEDEVILLED has sadly no chance of being replicated at the Oscars - because BEDEVILLED needs to get picked up - and a campaign begun immediately for her award. So... step up someone! I also love that WE ARE WHAT WE ARE got honored by the jury for the Next Wave award. That is a great little film. Really dying to see A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE - with the amount of awards it is running off with. SOUND OF NOISE getting the FANTASTIC AWARD makes me very happy indeed. It also seems quite evident that I must see KIDNAPPED. What an amazing FANTASTIC FEST this year - and we still have another 3 days to go.... Here's the press release: Fantastic Fest is excited to announce this year’s crop of Fantastic Fest titles which includes some of the brightest and hardest-hitting films of all time. We’ve seen a psycho-kinetic tire, a secret ninja, a town invaded by 8-bit enemies, and a family of cannibals that you might consider going home with. It’s a terrible task to pick favorites and single out any of the magnificent films, but our esteemed team of jurors have done the nearly impossible and chosen the best and most striking films of the festival. The juries were comprised of some of the most esteemed filmmakers, critics, festival directors and show biz people in the industry. Their thoughtful deliberations provided the following acknowledgments of cinematic excellence in all things Fantastic: The audience awards are presented by accounting firm Maxwell Locke & Ritter, who provided the certified tabulation of ballots this year.
