CBS: 8 p.m. “Bang” fans had little trouble finding their Monday show on Thursday. Its 2010 premiere was up from its 2009 premiere and easily won the timeslot traditionally won by “Survivor.” 8:30 p.m.The Shat’s “Shit” also won its coveted timeslot over “Bones,” “30 Rock” “My Generation” and “Vampire Diaries.” “Survivor’s” autumn 2009 premiere hit a 3.6. The reality show peaked at 4.5 last season. 9 p.m. “CSI” was way down from its 2009 premiere, losing again to “Grey’s” and “Office,” but still ahead of “Fringe” and “Nikita.” 10 p.m. “Mentalist” was down a bit from its 2009 premiere, but still won its timeslot against “Private Practice,” “The Apprentice” and “Jersey Shore.” ABC: 8 p.m. “Generation” tied The CW’s “Vampire Diaries” for a disastrous fifth place. The now-cancelled “FlashForward” premiered with a 4.0 first-place win in the timeslot one year ago. I guess we know where “V” is headed? 9 p.m. “Anatomy” won the night but was way down from its 2009 premiere. 10 p.m. “Private” was way down from its 4.6 2009 premiere, losing to “The Mentalist” but beating “Jersey Shore” and “The Apprentice.” NBC: 8 p.m. “Community” was way down from its 3.8 9:30 p.m. post-“Office” 2009 premiere, but up a bit from the 1.9 it scored in its 8 p.m. debut against “Survivor,” “Bones” “FlashForward,” and “Vampire Diaires” last fall. 8:30 Though “Rock” was predictably below its 3.0 2009 premiere in the post-“Office” slot, it still did surprisingly well with its move to 8:30; “Parks and Recreation” never got above a 2.3 in the 8:30 p.m. slot last season. I credit a sturdy “30 Rock” fan base but also the disappearance of “Survivor” and especially the arrival of “Shit.” I can see “Big Bang” fans flocking to “30 Rock” at 8:30 on a regular basis. 9 p.m. Driven perhaps by news of Steve Carell’s impending departure, “Office” made a huge comeback. It was up from its 2009 premiere, tied the huge Jim-Pam wedding episode and hit its best number since the hour-long March 4 Cecelia Halpert Birth episode. 9:30 The debut of “Outsourced” was down from the 3.8 “Community” premiere in the post-“Office” timeslot this time a year ago – this despite “The Office” providing a bigger lead-in this year. Blame the reviews. 10 p.m. The first non-celebrity “Apprentice” in more than three years is clearly a disaster even Donald Trump can’t make excuses for, way down from last spring’s Sunday celebrity edition. This despite the Sunday edition having to contend with new episodes of blockbusters like “Undercover Boss,” “Desperate Housewives” and “Family Guy.” A year ago the first two Thursday episodes of “The Jay Leno Show” hit a 2.7 then a 1.7 in the slot. Last March “The Marriage Ref” launched with a 3.4. “Ref” never fell below a 1.6. MTV: 10 p.m. “Jersey Shore” slipped a bit against all the premieres but still almost doubled the key demo watching “The Apprentice” at that hour! It also didn’t lose to “The Mentalist” or “Private Practice” by a very steep margin. Fox: 8 p.m. “Bones” was down from its 2009 pre-season launch, but easily beat the NBC sitcoms, ABC’s “My Generation” and The CW “Vampire Diaries to take second-place in its slot. 9 p.m. “Fringe” was way way down from its 2009 pre-season launch. Only four prior “Fringe” episodes scored lower than its third-season premiere. (It also tied with Wednesday launch of Bad Robot’s “Undercovers” over on NBC.) But it’s premiere week in a brutal timeslot; one assumes “Fringe” will do better counterprogramming repeats later in the season. The CW: 8 p.m. “Vampire” matched its first and third episodes of last September, but its second episode hurt its season-to-season average. 9 p.m. “Nikita’s” premiere bested the 1.2 fifth-season launch of “Supernatural,” but the espionage drama quickly fell to typical “Supernatural” levels with subsequent episodes. FX: 10 p.m. “Sunny” matched its 2009 premiere. 10:30 p.m. “League” hit a series best with its second-season premiere but quickly plummeted back to its typically tiny audience.
