The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day is too old to begin the training!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic!
Welcome to the next image in a series of BTS photos I’m running in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.
I’ve been informed that Empire Magazine had a big section devoted to rare Empire BTS pics and that we’ve overlapped a few times. Since I lean quite heavily on reader-submitted pics I often don’t know the origins of the photos. I myself haven’t seen Empire’s spread, but I’m sure they all will be popping up in the upcoming giant Making Of Book, which is released October 12th.
So, my UK readers please forgive any repeats. To me these were entirely new.
Case in point this excellent, if too small, look at the filming of the Wampa scene were Luke first uses The Force in a real, tangible we-can-see-the-lightsaber-move way. The framing of this photo, with the buried lightsaber in the lower right corner is impressive and I love seeing any SW photos where Lucas’ conscience, Gary Kurtz, makes an appearance.
This is one of those photos that makes me feel like I was there and I’m extremely happy to share it with you folks. Enjoy!
If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare or the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here.
Tomorrow’s Behind the Scenes pic is looking for the man with the hands! See ya’ tomorrow!
