The lady loves the Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day, but she doesn’t know it yet!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic!
I first saw Viva Las Vegas at the original Alamo Downtown with a nice restored print and an Elvis food special (fried peanut butter and banana sandwich). It might have been the fried PB&J, but the flick really works for me. I haven’t tracked down every Elvis movie as I keep hearing how bad some of them got, but I love both Jailhouse Rock and Viva Las Vegas.
Viva has the edge because of the sultry gorgeous Technicolor redhead sexiness of one Ms. Ann-Margret. And I also have a very soft spot for classic era Las Vegas.
The story isn’t much… swinger shows up with an engine-less race car to kick-ass in the Vegas Grand Prix… once he has enough money to buy the engine he needs, but he gets distracted by falling in love with Ann-Margret. Can’t blame him.
While it’s not the most deep movie in the world, the courtship between Elvis and Ann-Margret is what makes the movie work. She’s so not interested and snarky that it makes a perfect mountain for the womanizing Elvis to climb. Their pool-side musical number The Lady Loves Me is my favorite moment of the flick.
So, today’s pic comes from Viva Las Vegas, specifically one of Ann-Margret’s stage numbers. Enjoy (and click to make bigger)!
If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare or the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here.
Empire Strikes Back returns in tomorrow’s Behind the Scenes pic! See ya’ then!
