A JUMPER Sequel??

Merrick here...
A while back, we learned that a sequel to Doug Liman's 2008 teleportation adventure JUMPER was not inconceivable, despite the first film not exactly setting the box office on fire. I'm pretty sure we posted a a piece about this possibility, but I'm not seeming to find it at the moment. Anyway... Seems a JUMPER sequel is still on the table, or at the very least it's being mulled by someone who wants to see it happen.
"We're talking about it right now actually," he said. Where could the story go? "Hopefully somewhere a little darker. I think there's a lot you can do with it. It was sort of set up in a way it's gonna be mother hunting son and possibly even maybe sister hunting brother. We're talking about it, trying to figure it out." I 100% agree that there is definitely room to explore the "powers" and universe introduced in the first film - but I'm having trouble imagining a follow-up actually happening in the current market (the project doesn't seem safe enough, or obvious enough). Previous indications suggested JUMPER's teleportation abilities would would somehow integrate time travel in this potential sequel - it's unclear if that's a direction they're still considering.
