An oh too brief look at the RESIDENT EVIL flick

Hey folks, Harry here with a report from Ack, about the RESIDENT EVIL script. First off though... I had heard that Romero was completely uninvolved anymore regarding this movie. Word from some had it that he was wanting to make a movie that was a lot less violent than the folks that own the rights. But... whatever... Take that type of news as circumstance and unproven in this report.... while taking to heart the actual script parts (it matches up with what I've heard).... Here's Ack...

Greetings Harry,

Though I've been a fan of your site for some time, I have never wrote in.... Until now...

While doing a pickup at an agency here in Los Angeles (I'll keep the name quiet for now), I was given the full revised script to the Motion Picture Resident Evil..

I will first say George A. Romero is involved but is not the screen writer (Though he might end up getting credit for it!)...

Let me give you the opening scene from the scipt.. I'll just speed up the process and give it to you in non-screenplay format..

The film starts off with dark clouds hovering above the forest. Two park rangers are in a cabin eating. One has a speaking disorder (he stutters..)

The park rangers hear a noise and investigate..(naturally!) They approach a swamp and see a hand in the mud. They pull on the hand but only a hand comes out of the swamp.. They turn around to see.. (gee, guess what!)

One of the rangers gets eaten by a large "creature" though the discription is not clear what it is. (Yeah right.. We all know its a zombie..Big suprise there)..

So anyhow, the other ranger runs for his life back to the cabin but naturally, the walking dead can apparently sprint and gets him..

After reading the script over twice, I must conclude that its quite cheese and will in no way compair to the game..

Now I also must enfasise that I am a George A Romero fan when it comes to Zombies... So, we shall see.. Will it be classic or just another Hollywood money pit..

Moor to come from the script next week.. If you wish, details will be made about who wrote, who did re-writes and what agency distributed the script.

Until next time,

-Ack!
