Get away from her, you B… ehind the Scenes Pic of the Day!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic! Yesterday I featured perhaps the most influential action movie of my generation with Die Hard and today we have a look behind the scenes of one of the most influential science fiction action movies of my generation. I’ve been lucky enough to have interviewed James Cameron twice in my life and the first time was pretty magical because we talked a lot about his career, not just his newest movie. I kinda over did it… at one point Cameron said to me, “You know, I’ve directed other movies than Aliens.” I worship Terminator, T2, The Abyss and even his influence on the Roger Corman flicks, like BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS and GALAXY OF TERROR. But Aliens is what endures. I have mad love for the Terminator films, but as I grow older Aliens is the film that I find myself revisiting the most often. To me it’s the perfect sequel. It took Ridley Scott’s brilliant sci-fi horror flick and instead of repeating that formula broadened the scope while adding to the mythology, yet contains the same attention to character work, tension and inventive filmmaking. I’ve been looking for some good BTS images from this flick and have found a few, but they’re usually tiny or in poor resolution. Then I received this awesome (and big) picture of Stan Winston and his crew working on the Alien Queen and presto! The first Aliens picture in the run of this column! Here it is (click for a bigger version):

If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare or the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here. Thanks to reader Anuar for digging up this photo and sending it my way! Tomorrow’s pic features another make-up legend at work at his hairiest creation! See ya’ then! -Quint Follow Me On Twitter
