Now I have a Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day. Ho. Ho. Ho.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic! Today we feature one of the most perfect action movies of all time. John McTiernan’s Die Hard is a marvel. I know that sounds like I’m quote-whoring, but I’m honestly baffled a movie this fun, this ridiculous and this over-the-top is so goddamn good. The character work is effortless, from the smallest role (the two Agent Johnsons “No relation”) to the Twinkie eating flatfoot (Reginald velJohnson 4 evah!) to the amazing villains. Alan Rickman’s Hans Gruber is one of the best sleazy, intelligent, yet menacing baddies in all of film history. If there’s one thing the sequels are futilely chasing it’s a better villain than Hans Gruber. I have soft spot for the first two sequels, but you just can’t top that perfect mix of action, humor, genuine threat and vulgarity of the original Die Hard. Much of that is thanks to Bruce Willis not having developed his action hero persona yet. John McClane really plays like a tough-ass version of his Moonlighting character, David Addison… a normal guy pushed to extremes and physically punished for it by the end. Anyway, enough of my jibber-jabber. You all love Die Hard and you know why it’s so awesome. So, here’s a cool reader submitted shot of Bruce getting ready for a take (click for a bigger version):

If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare or the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here. Tomorrow’s pic features my man Stan treating the star of one of my favorite movies like a queen! -Quint quint@aintitcool.com Follow Me On Twitter
