LOST’s Damon Lindelof Rewriting Ridley Scott’s ALIEN Prequel!!

I am – Hercules!! Deadline Hollywood reports that “Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof has been hired to rewrite the proposed Ridley Scott-directed “Alien” prequel. Jon Spaihts (“Passengers”) wrote the prior draft of the prequel’s screenplay. Lindelof, who co-wrote (without a screenwriting credit) J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” movie and co-wrote Jon Favreau’s upcoming “Cowboys and Aliens,” has surprisingly few credits as a solo screenwriter, but did a bang-up job as solo scripter on Marvel’s Ulimate Hulk Vs. Wolverine funnybook over the past few years. Lindelof is also working with frequent collaborators Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci on the next “Star Trek” film Abrams is producing. (Actor Bruce Greenwood says that “Trek” is slated to begin production in January.) Scott, of course, directed the original 1979 "Alien," but has been away from the franchise in the three decades since. Find all of Deadline’s exclusive on the matter here.
