X never, ever marks the spot… where you can find the Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic! I have some vivid memories of seeing this film with my family opening night. It was one of the first big event films in my memory. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was a big deal for my whole family, one of the few films we all went to together. I remember the lights going down and the excitement of seeing a new Indiana Jones adventure unfold. I was 8 years old when it came out and I was confused at the beginning when the guy with Indy’s hat wasn’t Harrison Ford and I thought they recast the role. Then the chubby kid calls River Phoenix "Indy" and I got it. You know, I have some problems with the film, but I still have a lot of love for it. It has the fun of the previous Indiana Jones movies, but there’s real emotion to counterbalance the added comedy schtick. Indy’s troubled relationship with his father (brilliant casting with Connery, of course… especially considering that Indiana Jones was Spielberg's attempt at doing his own James Bond series) has an air of authenticity to it that makes me forgive how they turned Marcus Brody into a bumbling fool and Sallah into a greedy Arab. So today’s pic is of Indiana Jones, his movie dad and his other father… only missing Lucas to make the family complete. Click to make bigger. Here’s the pic:

If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare, the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here. You will believe tomorrow’s Behind the Scenes Pic can fly. -Quint quint@aintitcool.com Follow Me On Twitter
