Ooops, got in such a hurry forgot the intro... Here's Groove's coverage of the same event that Jack Fly covered. Seems the X-Men set has a gravitational field pulling upon geeks and spies... heh... imagine that? Here is... the Groove...
Hi, my name is "Groove"
I live about 12 blocks away from some pretty big action this week until next Thursday night here in balmy Hamilton, Ontario Canada. The old Hamilton train station building has been commandered by the studio filming the X-Men movie.
They're shooting all night from 7-7. Friday morning I rolled down to see what I could see, and ended up seeing quite a bit... the cool weather plus early morning kept away the crowds. The front of the station has been fixed up to look like a U.S. Government building, replete with 'Ol Glory flying on high. All around the area in front of the station they've piled busted up concrete and steel debris.
I saw about seven police cars smashed up, with some laid on top of the other. Debris lay all over a bunch of other cars as well. Off to my left there was a helicopter parked with "United States of America" on the side and I think the Presidential Seal. My buddy from work was watching the filming late Thursday night and said they've landed that copter several times onto some grass there. He said there was a big crowd that night, but he was able to see part of a scene being shot outside with Patrick Stewart and the wrestler guy playing Sabertooth ( he said the Sabertooth costume looks fantastic, buddy has a huge orange mane...)
Anyways, he reported that he could easily hear Patrick Stewart's lines over the surrounding noise... at one point he shouted "Go ahead, kill me then!"
I just came back from the shooting tonight, there wasn't much to see- they were doing a bunch of filming inside. I'll be back tomorrow night to see if I can glimpse any of the big players and the costumes. Thanks for taking my report, talk to you again soon...
