Hey folks, here's the latest on the FRIDAY THE 13th franchise/ Freddy vs Jason bit from 'the man behind the mask... and he's out of control... he's back!' Sigh... Memories are fun sometimes. Here's the scoop....
I caught an interview with Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhies in Friday the 13th #s 7,8 and 9) on radio station WROV-FM (96.3 in Roanoke, VA) today on the ironically named "Chainsaw Circus" show. When asked about his upcoming projects, Hodder reported that he is getting ready to start on the next Friday the 13th film, tentatively called "Jason X" — with X signifying the 10th film in the series. After that, he said he'll be working on the "long-awaited Freddy vs. Jason movie."
Hodder also talked about his stunt work in other movies, and how he and the director would confer about the "kills" in the Jason movies. His favorite is in Part 7, when he beat the sleeping bag against the tree.
The best part was when a caller phoned in to tell the show's hosts about a bizarre encounter with Hodder. The caller said he met Hodder at a fraternity party in 1991. He said "Jason" took his hunting knife, stabbed the wall of the frat house and then signed it.
When asked about it, Hodder said he vaguely recalled doing that. "I missed his head," Hodder joked.
