MONSTERPOCALYPSE!! Tim Burton Is Still Not For Sure, But They're Close To A Writer Now!!

DreamWorks is talking to John August about writing the kaijuriffic MONSTERPOCALYPSE - a feature film based on the Privateer game (HERE).

About a month ago, we heard that Tim Burton was being wooed to direct this picture. That deal hasn't formally come together yet, but it's still in motion. Given their ongoing association, August jumping on-board might just persuade Tim to finally do the same.

If that deal comes together, it would be the fourth collaboration between August and Burton, following “Big Fish,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Corpse Bride.” But the two also have a feature adaptation of the ’60s TV show “Dark Shadows” in development at Warner Bros. with Burton regular Johnny Depp attached.
