In The Shadow Of MACGRUBER, The Big-Screen MACGYVER Moves Forward!

Beaks here...

With the sublimely moronic MACGRUBER hitting theaters today, New Line has let slip to The Hollywood Reporter that they've hired Jason Richman to writer the studio's straight-ahead, big-screen transfer of the long-running ABC series MACGYVER. Richman previously penned the remake of BANGKOK DANGEROUS and the Anthony Hopkins-Chris Rock buddy-action-comedy BAD COMPANY. He also did some uncredited rewriting on BLACK HAWK DOWN, so it's not all bad. There's no word yet on whether there'll be room for the once and future MacGyver, Richard Dean Anderson, in this film. Hopefully, they'll at least incorporate the series' groovy theme song.
