Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. James Franco makes me laugh. I love the dude's timing and while a lot of the world turned on PINEAPPLE EXPRESS I stick by it. That shit is so over the top crazy-violent and fun. Right up my alley. So, hot on the heels of the Apes reboot thing (not a bad choice), comes news of Franco top-lining a comedy called Ricky Stanicky. The folks at Heat Vision have some info on the project, said to be an R-rated ensemble comedy from Jeff Bushell, the writer of Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Ricky Stanicky is a made-up hooligan, a kind of prankster boogeyman made up by a bunch of kids who accidentally set someone's house on fire. When questioned about it, they make up Ricky Stanicky and get away with it! As adults they find ways to blame every fault on this imaginary man until they're forced to introduce Ricky to their wives. They hire an actor to play Ricky (Franco) and I'm sure things only go downhill from there. Sounds like a concept full of potential to me.
