At the SHREK FOREVER AFTER premiere, Eddie Murphy told Access Hollywood that a turd...I mean third...NUTTY PROFESSOR film may be/kinda/sorta/possibly be in the works. Perhaps. If.

“You know what, there might be another ‘Nutty Professor,’” Eddie Murphy told Access Hollywood‘s Shaun Robinson at the LA premiere of “Shrek Forever After” on Sunday, breaking the news of the possible sequel’s latest development. “We kind of wrote something that might be kind of funny.”

...said Eddie in THIS discussion with AH. Eddie aslo says he has no idea what's happening with the BEVERLY HILLS COP sequel that's pretty much dropped off the radar. Last we heard, Brett Ratner was still attached to direct that - so perhaps the project going radio silent is for the best. While the notion of another NUTTY PROFESSOR film isn't something most of us will be jumping up and down about, the previous two installments made something like $450 million cumulatively - so another picture, of some kind, seems inevitable. Of course, the second film was 10 years ago (!?!?) - so I wonder if a rebooted franchise is more likely than a Murphy-driven sequel. I'm sure MEET DAVE will still be raw in the memories of The Powers That Be.
