Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We got word that Australian actor Jack Thompson (not to be confused with the US prick trying to censor video games) appeared at a Sci-Fi con or gathering of some sort in Sydney this past weekend and mentioned that he was up for Thorin in The Hobbit.
If I'm not mistaken this picture was taken at the talk where he dropped that bomb:

Yep, he looks positively dwarfish, beard and all.
Consider this rumor, originating at this blog here, but I'm certain this is what Jack Thompson thinks is true. We don't know how far negotiations are. He could be talking when he's not supposed to or talking out of turn, making assumptions. But he's a likely candidate and worth discussion, yeah?
