I am – Hercules!!
“South Park’s” last pre-hiatus episode matched the season high in 18-49 it hit seven weeks ago with its season premiere. That season premiere snagged the animated comedy’s biggest audience since 1999, so maybe Wednesday’s episode was the second-biggest since 1999?
In any case, the Towelie-centric story at 10 p.m. smoked both CBS’ repeat of “CSI: NY” and the premiere of ABC’s poorly reviewed “Happy Town.”
In less-amazing Wednesday ratings news:
* “American Idol” bounced back from last week’s season low (was that the “Idol Gives Back” episode?)
* “Modern Family” hit its best number in 14 weeks.
* “Law & Order: SVU,” the only 10 p.m. show to beat "South Park" Wednesday, overtook “Parenthood” this week as NBC’s top drama.
