The STAR WARS Films Are Being Readied For Blu-Ray!! Coming Sooner Than Later??

Over the weekend, Lucasfilm minion Steve Sansweet confirmed that STAR WARS Blu-Rays are in the works, and have been for a while.

I won't call it the Ultimate Set because we keep finding stuff—but, a very full set of all six movies on Blu-ray with lots of extra material. We're finding all kinds of scenes from dailies that have never been seen before. [EDIT] it won't be in the too distant future."

I'm sure many us will find some way to complain about the films and their forthcoming issuance (myself included, most likely), but most of us doing the complaining will also run right out and buy every damn one of the movies as soon as possible. Me? As long as The Powers That Be ensure the original cuts of Episodes IV, V, and VI are issued alongside the "Special Editions"- preferably in the same disc and not as a stand-alone purchase - I'd be pretty happy. I've been (slowly) making my way through the CLONE WARS animated series. While it's definitely uneven, I find the show far more interesting in terms of ideas and storytelling than much of what we saw in the Prequels. Quite respectable. Standard DVDs and Blu-Rays are rentable from Netflix, and they can also be had HERE .
