Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a bit of exciting news for us horror fans. I don't know about you, but I very much liked Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's work in 28 WEEKS LATER and in his Spanish language thriller INTACTO before that, so him finally making another movie is good news, especially when it's a horror flick starring Clive Owen. You may remember last year he was announced as filling in for Gore Verbinski on the BIOSHOCK movie... a great idea, by the way... but it seems that giant movie is finding it difficult to find a budget that both makes sense for the money men and the property. If you've played the game you know it'll be an expensive movie. So it looks like Fresnadillo has this flick, INTRUDERS, going while Bioshock treads water (yuk-yuk-yuk). The description sounds a bit Guillermo del Toro-ish, focused on an 11 year old girl confronting demons of some kind. Both Clive Owen and Daniel Brühl (Fredrick Zoller from Inglourious Basterds) have signed on according to Variety's Tatiana Siegel with Apaches Entertainment producing and Universal picking up International Distribution. Can't wait to find out more about this project. Fresnadillo's a fascinating filmmaker on the rise that hasn't really had his break-out yet and he's got himself a hell of a cast, so that leads me to believe Jaime Marques and Nico Casariego's script delivers. -Quint quint@aintitcool.com Follow Me On Twitter
