Hey folks, Harry here... While I first received the news from the below source, I believe that IGNMOVIES.COM is the true original source for the info. Right now... and until it is confirmed in the trades I would take this as rumor. Personally, I would be far more interested in Tom Tykwer (director of RUN LOLA RUN) directing with Franka Potente playing Aeon... But hey... I could also see Famke Janssen as the super cool spy chick. Of course that's just me. I like PI, but I haven't seen Darren Aronofsky really unleash with the dynamics for this type of film. But as one director friend of mine said... "Action is easy to direct, emotional character development and intelligent storytelling are the bitches." And there ya have it. Here's the scoop...
Hi Harry,
Well, after spending years in limbo Paramount's finally moving on Aeon Flux. What with Tomb Raider in the works and all it seems that Paramount wants in on the tough girl action. They were searching for a writer but now it seems they are close to getting a writer/director...Darren Aronofsky. That seems like the perfect director for the job to me. What this means for Proteus is anybody's guess, but Paramount would very much like to sign the Pi-boy for this one.
Thought you'd like to know.
