Attention Collectors! The IRON MAN Prop & Costume Auction Is Coming To Chicago April 18th!

Beaks here...

If you're an avid movie memorabilia collector, then Propworx needs no introduction. Their prop and costume auctions for BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and STARGATE are legendary. Now they're teaming with Marvel Studios to auction off all manner of coolness from IRON MAN on April 18th at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (aka C2E2)!

If you hit up the official auction site, you'll get a good sense of the quality and diversity of items up for grabs. But if you're a truly dedicated collector, you'll want to get the lovingly-put-together catalog, which features precise details on all 219 lots and interviews with Jon Favreau, production designer J. Michael Riva, concept artist Ryan Meinerding, suit effects supervisor Shane Mahan and set decorator Lauri Gaffin. Flipping through the catalog, I'm reminded that this design team was shorted a few Oscar nominations. If you attend C2E2, you'll be able to preview the lots on Friday, April 16 (1:00 PM - 7:00 PM) and Saturday, April 17 (10:00 AM - 6:00 PM). The auction will begin on Sunday, April 18th at 10:00 AM and run until 5:00 PM. More details on the event can be found here. Anyone who wants to get me an early birthday present should be prepared to bid on this...

This would also be nifty...

There's also a crushed Mark III helmet, some battle damaged Mark III body armor, an Iron Monger helmet and torso combo that measures close to four feet tall, and a huge assortment of costumes. For more info, head over to the Propworx website. And even if you're not in the market for props and costumes, you should stop by the preview day at C2E2 anyway. The presentation alone should be impressive.
