Learn Who Marvel Wants To Play The Red Skull In CAPTAIN AMERICA!!

I am – Hercules!!
Bad news perhaps for Christoph Waltz! Marvel wants another foreigner, Hugo Weaving, to play Steve Rogers’ Nazi nemesis The Red Skull in its coming “Captain America” feature, according to the Los Angeles Times. In the funnybooks the original Skull, created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby in 1941's Captain America Comics #7, was ne'er-do-well orphan Johann Shmidt, personally trained by Adolf Hitler to head Nazi terrorist activities. In Albert Pyun's straight-to-video 1990 version of "Captain America," the Skull was played by Scott Paulin ("The Accused," "Turner & Hooch"). The title character has not yet been cast in "First Avenger: Captain America," to be directed by Joe Johnston ("Hildago," "The Wolfman") from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (the "Narnia" series). Johnson and Weaving worked together on "Wolfman." “Matrix” vet Weaving is no stranger to great sci-fi villainy, but I’ll wait to hear his German accent before I fully endorse his casting. Find all of the Times’ story on the matter here.
