Has The FRIGHT NIGHT Remake Found Its Director??

Merrick here...
L.A. TImes is saying the FRIGHT NIGHT remake is close to landing a director.
A sweepstakes that included at least three directors appears to be coming to a close, with Craig Gillespie the man who will likely sit behind the camera. Sources say that after the studio met with and contemplated a number of directors, the parties on Friday began entering negotiations for Gillespie to take the reins.
...says L.A. Times HERE. If you're not familiar with Gillespie's work, he recently brought us LARS AND THE REAL GIRL, MR. WOODCOCK, and was a director/producer on Diablo Cody's Showtime series THE UNITED STATES OF TARA.
FRIGHT NIGHT is being written by Marti Noxon (the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER series, MAD MEN). Very curious to see how they'll handle this new version tonally. Will they work to replicate the original's vibe?
Will it skew more towards suspense? More towards comedy? Or will it be fluffed up thanks to the success of TWILIGHT and whatnot?
