Stephen Chow = Bruce Lee's WAY OF THE DRAGON!! It'll Star Chow, Jack Black, And Anne Hathaway!?

Merrick here...
If you're like me & you've been wondering what Stephen Chow was up to after jumping away from THE GREEN HORNET (I'm not being facetious - I actually have been wondering this) - here's you answer courtesy of THIS REPORT from ChannelNewsAsia. TAI CHI will star Chow, Jack Black and Anne Hathaway - it's a film whose development has been painstakingly tweaked by Chow, who'll also direct.
The Hong Kong actor-director had been very quiet after releasing "CJ7" in 2008 and even pulled out from the high-profile "The Green Hornet" due to unspecified reasons, but his upcoming film "Tai Chi" looks set to make a splash in Hollywood. The film will be Chow's directorial and acting debut in Tinseltown. [EDIT] "Tai Chi" will be based on the 1972 film "Way of the Dragon" starring Bruce Lee. It tells the story of a Chinese migrant in the US (played by Chow) who works as a dishwasher in Chinatown and hides his skills as a Tai Chi master. He is forced to stand up to gangsters who oppress his fellow migrants and later gets invited to start martial arts schools to share his knowledge.
You can find a few more details through the link above. In case you're not familiar with the original (Bruce Lee-directed) iteration of this concept, here's a sequence from the film featuring Lee vs Chuck Norris:
There've been whispers that a project of this nature might be in the wind for Chow, but this is the most conclusive evidence yet (including the report's citation of a June start date and $60 million budget) that it's actually gonna happen. I love Stephen Chow's work and I can't wait to see how this turns out...even if this is a remake of sorts (just how much of a remake it actually is remains to be seen)...which I don't normally support in any way...I just want me some new Chow stuff...which is admittedly neurotic.
