Kevin Smith announces stuff at VULGARTHON '98!!!

Well lo and behold on the day prior known as the day of Tues, people assembled in a magical land known as New Jersey to partake in... VULGARTHON '98!!! And weeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, of course I had the spies on hand, and here is their report.

The first guy named DUBA... (ummm... o..... k....) had this to say...

My brother and I just returned from Kevin Smith's Vulgarthon '98. During a Q & A session, Kevin let us in on two cool things. The first is that Jason Lee has been asked to portray Azreal in Smith's forthcoming film Dogma that should begin filming in March '98. The second tidbit is that Warner Brothers have asked him to write the script for DC's Green Lantern movie that is in development! He couln't really tell us anymore about G.L., I just wanted to share this cool new with you! Keep up the good work!

Now inbetween I hear a rumor that Kevin Smith had a T-Shirt with the words, "FUCK TIM BURTON" emblazoned on the front. Huh huh huh... no comment. Ummmm, one can only... ummmm assume this had to do with his.... ummmm..... script (that I ummmmm loved) being dumped by Burton. One has to admire the 'chutzpah' and 'cajones' and 'maturity' that Kevin exhibited with this ummmmmm.... T-Shirt. I have to say that I would most likely act the same way if someone put my script (that most everyone loved) with the Roswell alien.

ANY......WAAAAAAAY.... Earl Grey, the Master of Tea Ceremonies. You know like when you put sugar in your spoon and dip it four times in your hot tea. Or he's the master of the fine art of Tea-Bagging. I'm not sure what he meant. But he asked for it!!!

I attended Kevin Smith's VulgarThon 98 film festival, in which there were multiple Q&A sessions with Kevin, Jason Mewes, and other View Askew types.

Kevin spilled the beans to us that his next full authorship project after Dogma (he is only scripting Fletch 3) will be a sequel to Clerks that, if he can pull it off, will include every character ever mentioned in the View Askew universe. When asked if "Clerks 2" (there is no title yet) will be black and white like the first one, he cryptically replied, "Both."

If anyone else has a "MEGA COOL EXPERIENCE" (pssssssst... take a look at my coverage of special cool film events. Write one of those up, and you'll be a star spy) drop me a line. I'm sure there are some HILARIOUS stories from VULGARTHON. Let's hear em!!!! Take care!!!!
